NICHIGAI/WEB Service is the internet-based subscription database service which provides the information regarding the magazine articles, the books and the prominent figures.
NICHIGAI/WEB Service consists of 3 databases below.
MagazinePlus
The largest index database of magazines and papers in Japan from the Meiji era and on.
The Zasshikijisakuin of National Diet Library is completely included in the MagazinePlus.
It covers from the commercial magazines to the academic periodicals, in Japan.
BookPlus
The catalog database of books in Japan from the Meiji era and on.
An extensive amount of the bibliographic information of books enables you to search freely for records matching criteria input by the user.
The books from 1986 on have the table of contents, the books from 2000 on have the cover images and the books from 2001 on have the author's brief profiles.
WhoPlus
The database of the brief personal history of prominent figure and the bibliography on him, in Japan.
WhoPlus cross searches WHO and Jinbutsu Reference Jiten (i.e., Biography Index of Japan and Foreign).
WHO contains three hundred two thousand people in various fields, from living person to deceased.
Jinbutsu Reference Jiten is derived from the representative reference book series of NICHIGAI ASSOCIATES, Inc.

NICHIGAI/WEB Service is the best database for learning how to do a literature search. The user interface is easy for students. It is also available for educational materials.
Support for IP address authentication
There are 2 methods of connecting to NICHIGAI/WEB Service;
1) IP address authentication
2) User-ID ＆ password authentication
IP address authentication will enable you to connect to the database subscribed with just 1 click. No need to type your user-ID and password one by one. It is available on and off campus though the VPN authentication system will be needed separately.
Optional functions on the MagazinePlus and the BookPlus
It is possible to provide linkage from MagazinePlus or BookPlus to the results on your library's OPAC directly. For example, a searcher who finds an article or a book of interest on the databases will get possession information of library's OPAC. It also allows you to search for the results of J-STAGE, CiNii Books and CiNii Articles automatically on the MagazinePlus. It is free of charge but IP adderess authentication users only.
Library guidance ID for the NICHIGAI/WEB Service
We will offer you the library guidance ID for further use of the database in your library. We issue the free user-ID temporarily that is available for your orientation seminar of library.
